Yoga @ Coombs

Yoga at Charles Weston Primary School in Coombs, Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 8.30. We will be returning for Term 1 2026 is eight weeks from 11 February to 1 April.

These classes are a lovely mix of gentle Hatha and Yin Yoga, to exercise the body and release tension. A supportive class with lots of options offered to make it accessible and safe. We use mindful movement to reconnect with our bodies and to tune into what it needs, our breath guides our movement and we curiously explore the impact of the poses on our bodies.

Our classes are held at Charles Weston Primary School, 80 Woodberry Avenue Coombs.

In person yoga classes are held in the Community Room, enter through the gate next to the front office, walk towards the courtyard and the Community Room is on your right (look for our signs). Parking off Woodberry Avenue opposite the childcare centre. (Note, this enterance is around the side, not next to the gym).

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your yoga sessions – they are just the right level for me, encouraging me to try new things, but not too far out of my comfort zone.

Special Events

We love running special events and collaborating with like-minded businesses. We are excited to be running Unison Harp Yoga events in 2026 with Alison Ware from HarpCare. Each season we will enjoy a deeply relaxing Yin Yoga Practice accompanied by the soothing sounds of the Harp.

  • Dates to be announced

The harp is ancient instrument with unique acoustic qualities and has long been associated with the healing arts. In each harp yoga session Alison creates music that complements Jo’s yoga sequence to help promote feelings of wellbeing, deep rest, and comfort.

Yin Yoga is a floor-based practice, were you support your body in each shape to allow for deep release and relaxation.  Each pose is held for 3-5 minutes and we finish our session with an extended guided meditation and savasana.

‘Jo and Alison made a great pair to bring yoga relaxation to the next level’

‘Thank you so much for a wonderfully relaxing afternoon.  You are some – quite simply – magic!’

‘The harp helped to ground me during the mindful experience, and contributed to a sense of peace and relaxation.  I always look forward to the sessions!’

‘Alison’s harp playing set a tone of safe, warm happiness. My mind was full after a busy weekend, Jo’s voice was calming and soothing, allowing me to gently move into each pose while being aware of my breathing and being able to clear my mind into a state of wellbeing’

Whether you are into Yoga or never before attended a class, this weekend is a mind and body reset, relaxing and genuine ‘time out’ with like-minded participants that would be beneficial to anyone with a busy life.  Amazing food, location, facilities and people.  Truly a privilege to have attended.

Danielle, Winter 2024

The yoga retreat was a wonderful chance to relax more deeply than I have ever relaxed before. I arrived with questions about how to move forward in my career and left with answers that really resonated. I also left feeling nurtured and nourished. Two weeks later I am still feeling the bliss. Thanks Jo and Penny for a wonderful weekend.
